Board of Directors

Raena C. Grant, President

Raena Grant is the Assistant Vice President of the National Committee for Quality Assurance, with an emphasis on leadership development. A Michigan native, she has also worked in DC as the Director of Learning and Innovation for the Alliance of Community Heath Plans. In Michigan she monitored quality improvement and outcomes for 2 non-profit organizations. After completing the United Way Project Blueprint, a board training program, in 2006, she went on to become a member of Tobacco Free Partners and Inforum, both non-profits in Grand Rapids, MI. She has a master’s degree in health services administration from the University of Michigan.

Ingrid Smith, Vice-President

Ingrid Smith, MSW, is a Social Worker in the Adult Protective Services Division of the Department of Family Services, Fall Church, VA. A graduate of Southern Illinois University, she has lived in DC since attending graduate school at Howard University. After working for the American Red Cross in Atlanta, her DC career began with Project Empowerment, an ex-offender re-entry program administered through the DC Department of Employment Services. She has previously volunteered as a group facilitator, mentor, speaker, tutor, and child’s advocate for such organizations as a women’s collective and a family medical counseling service.

Mayur Maniar, Treasurer

Mayur Maniar is the Vice President, Credit & Counterparty Risk Management, of Freddie Mac. Mayur has worked in McLean, VA, for many years and is looking forward to utilizing his financial expertise in the District of Columbia. As Chief Credit Officer for Educap, Mayur led the launch of a number of new policies designed to enhance private student lending. From 1996 to 2005, Mayur worked with Capitol One, both in McLean and in Nottingham, UK. Before entering finance, Mayur was a structural (or civil) engineer, helping to design stadiums and office buildings throughout the United States. He has a master’s degree in Civil Engineering from Rice University in Houston, and an MBA from the University of Virginia.
