College Compass Winter 2010 has begun!
The winter session of College Compass, our college access and success program, is up and running! Students who received their GEDs from such programs as The Next Step Public Charter School and Marshall Heights Academy have been taking math, writing, and study skills courses as well as working with a student advisor to get ready for college. Huge thanks to Catholic University and the YWCA who have partnered with BT so that students can benefit from their campus and site resources!
Professors with extensive experience in American schools and abroad, Pollyanne Power and Ron Meeks, teach the writing and math courses, respectively. Beyond Talent AmeriCorps volunteers Emily Breines and Christine Thelen teach the study skills curriculum provided through a collaboration with Walter E. Dennis Learning Center of Ohio State University and coordinate the student advising. Read more about College Compass in the Programs & Services section!
