Learner Success Story: Pamelia Council
Pamelia Council is a student and soon-to-be graduate of Living Wages, an External Diploma Program site in Southeast DC. Pam worked hard with Living Wages staff, as well as Kate Landry, BT's former AmeriCorps volunteer, and Phil Cartland, a BT volunteer to complete the comprehensive EDP. She says of her experience with BT staff, "They are very helpful and concerned about the students at Living Wages. Because of them, I will be graduating in July 2010." Although Pam has completed her EDP and is waiting for her evaluation, she comes into Living Wages every day to offer support and encouragement to her peers. Pam is a true inspiration for other adult learners; she has kept a strong positive attitude during a long and often frustrating process and encourages current students to keep at it because she is confident that they will acheive their goals as well. Beyond Talent celebrates Pam's dedication and courage and looks eagerly ahead to more student successes!
