Beyond Talent is celebrating program and organizational successes in the last month, as students achieve their goals and community support continues to grow.

Two students from the Winter 2008 Session of the College Readiness Program are attending summer bridge programs at their chosen universities! (Summer bridge programs are designed to refresh and improve students' skills in preparation for the school year).

Wachovia joined the ranks of Beyond Talent's corporate sponsors with a gift of $5,000 to help expand the reach and capacity of BT's innovative education and community development initiatives.

Two students in the current session of the College Readiness Program were accepted to UDC.

The Herb Block Foundation and Jovid Foundation renewed their support of Beyond Talent with gifts of $25,000 and $10,000, respectively.

Program coordinator Sasha Wilson recruited 5 volunteer mentors through online and newspaper advertising. Along with old-fashioned networking, Sasha also set up a Beyond Talent page on facebook.com!

Beyond Talent is planning a fund-raising happy hour at Madam's Organ on Thursday, September 11. Stay tuned for more details!
