President Obama: Expand Access to Higher Education!
Thursday, 10 September 2009
The President recognizes that expanding access to higher education is critical to our country's future: "After graduating high school, all Americans should be prepared to attend at least one year of job training or higher education to better equip our workforce for the 21st century economy. We will continue to make higher education more affordable by expanding Pell Grants and initiating new tax credits to make sure any young person who works hard and desires a college education can access it."

Summer Sizzles for BT Supporters!
Monday, 20 July 2009
Beyond Talent had a networking event with Giving Connections at Public Bar and Lounge Thursday July 9, 2009. Our staff met a variety of professionals interested in nonprofits in the District.
Giving Connections is an organization that features nonprofit organizations at its series of networking events. Giving Connections specializes in providing networking and marketing opportunities to professionals and business leaders.
In addition, Bartending 4 Change served it up with Beyond Talent at Garrett’s Restaurant and Railroad Tavern Thursday July 16, 2009. Bartending 4 Change mixologists Salim Bhabhrawala and David Sack made drinks with their routine zeal and expertise and donated their tips to benefit Beyond Talent.
Bartending 4 Change is an all-volunteer non-profit organization that raises money for DC charities through special events and happy hours. The concept is simple - Bartending 4 Change selects a charity to host at one of its events held at local bars and restaurants - and all the tips go to the selected charity. Aside from raising money for charities, Bartending 4 Change 1) creates an environment for networking amongst charitable-minded groups and individuals in the greater DC area, 2) raises awareness of community issues and generates interest in community service, and 3) allows for charities to recruit volunteers for its future aspirations. To learn more about Bartending 4 Change, please visit their website.
Thanks goes out to GIving Connections, Salim, David, the folks at Garrett’s for giving BT a great night!
