Dear [NAME],Beyond Talent DONATE button

About half of students in the District become disconnected from the public schools before graduating. Beyond Talent is unique in its mission to serve those who pursue high school credentials through non-traditional programs.

In 2003 Beyond Talent broke new ground with our Peer Mentoring Program, pairing non-traditional high school graduates with current GED and EDP students in one-on-one mentoring relationships. Now we are expanding the program by training volunteers from  all over the community to mentor even more students and graduates of GED and External Diploma Programs as they transition to college or the workplace.

We have been busy recruiting mentors and students but we are looking for more! Please help us spread the word! If you're interested in participating, either as a mentor or mentee, please contact Sasha Wilson at (202) 265-1717 or swilson@beyondtalent.org.

Please visit our Web site for more information about the expanded mentoring program and other updates, including:

  • Student Achievement Digest, June 2008!
  • Two more students off to UDC thanks to Beyond Talent and Academy of Hope!
  • Beyond Talent fund-raising happy hour at Adams Morgan on Thursday, September 25!
  • Herb Block Foundation, Jovid Foundation, Wachovia, and the Hattie M. Strong Foundation show their support for Beyond Talent's innovative programs for non-traditional graduates!

As always, thank you for your interest, enthusiasm, and support!
